I was more impressed than expected and I don’t regret ordering it, even if I consider this particular one to have quirks with the TPE which might be caused by extended storage conditions (so basically the box should have been stored upright in warehouse and transit, and of course this won’t usually remain so, but also the packaging was inadequate for how it was handled, though not enough to try and address it.)
This was intended to replace a similar doll by Jarliet, and comparitively it starts out somewhat stiff and should hold position, which with this doll it won’t always do. The skeleton is functional and when limbs do not hold position, could be improved with maneuverability (though not too different from similar priced models.)
The TPE is great for the most part and evidently is on the softer side, which might also be why when it seems like it was stored on it’s side, might have caused the breast to keep it’s form as a contour shape with the arms (and I injected extra air and tried to keep the form held up by clothing, to see if it would mold back into a more natural position, and it has seemed to do so after several weeks, though some indenting is still noticeable.)
For those starting out with these dolls, I suggest keeping the gloves on the hands while keeping the fingers crunched together (so they don’t get damaged as easily) and perhaps keep a full length bathrobe around it for protection. Use an aquarium air pump to dry and use brewing sanitizer. Guar gum mixed with sanitizer, mixed with something like rosemary extract as an antifungal and combined with something like ultrasound gel (though probably unecessary) works well. Don’t ever have something like petroleum jelly in contact with TPE because it will weaken it.
This is an excellent alternative to more expensive dolls with probably identical traits as I mentioned. Since these don’t usually have options to use jelly/gel breast, I should mention the TPE is enough in that area to seem realistic (though it will weigh half of what you would expect for it’s size.) I’ve actually still kept my old doll around (mostly for sentimental reasons, though not entirely) even though the skeleton is exposed along the arm and shoulder area, which was partly due to sharp edges of the skeleton being impacted after it fell, which could also be an issue for this doll. Also, a similar issue where one of the legs can be too loose at the hips, which may pose similar problems with the center splitting at some point (so when repositioning, the leg’s weight will be enough that it will fall down, which should be tightened enough to hold position without needing to apply pressure to it.)
